In Ireland, the qualifications used in the education and training system is defined through the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

Students are advised to go through the NFQ website carefully to know more about the recognition of degrees earned outside Ireland.

International students who are engaged in full-time study for at least one year’s duration, currently do not need a work permit to work in Ireland.

It may be possible for international students to stay in Ireland after completing studies for the purpose of seeking employment under the Irish Third Level Graduate Scheme. This scheme exists to allow legally resident non-EU third level graduates to remain in Ireland in order to look for employment or apply for a green card/work permit.
