High Commission of India (HCI) in Ottawa along with the Consulates in Toronto and Vancouver extend help & support to all the Indian Students residing in Canada.

High Commission and Consulate officials organises welcome/orientation and interaction sessions for students coming from India and hold regular student information sessions/programmes in various educational institutions. Such programmes are usually held in the beginning of the academic year and students are given detailed briefing on the steps to be followed for ensuring their welfare in Canada. The students are also informed about various support systems available in Canada for international students.

The High Commission and Consulate officers organises consular camps and make comprehensive presentations to sensitise Indian students on overall Canadian academic landscape, various consular services offered including information pertaining to their registration on Government of India portals and Do's & Don’ts for their overall well-being. The students are informed about Canada, its legal system, local Indian community, culture and weather. They are briefed on how to deal with stressful situations and what to do in emergency situations. The High Commission and Consulates also provide information on various consular services through social media platforms and hold regular interactive sessions with students in association with Indo-Canadian Community Associations.
