Organisations that Promote United States as a Study Destination

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), under the U.S. Department of State, designs and implements educational, professional, and cultural exchange and other programmes that create and sustains a mutual understanding with other countries necessary to advancing United States foreign policy goals. In addition to offering information, ECA operates exchange programmes that facilitate international student mobility, such as the Fulbright, Humphrey, and English language programmes. EducationUSA is a website launched by U.S Department of State where prospective students have access to resources that support them in exploring all aspects of pursuing higher education in the country.

Apart from the efforts made by the government, Universities also have a dedicated International Student Office, responsible for guiding international students through the admissions & enrolment process and advising them throughout their tenure at the University. Most of these Universities visit India to hold events in different cities to attract and guide students for admission.

United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF)

The U.S. Department of State and the United States Embassy and Consulates in India promote higher education through the EducationUSA programme. It is a U.S. Government programme and the official source of information on U.S. higher education.  EducationUSA advisers help students by disseminating accurate, current and comprehensive information on higher education in the U.S. and directing them on the admission processes.

The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) - It is a bi-national organization which promotes mutual understanding between the United States and India through educational and cultural exchanges. In addition to the EducationUSA programme, USIEF administers the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru and other fellowships for outstanding students, scholars and professionals of India and the U.S., enabling strategic dialogue, collaboration and thought-leadership on critical issues affecting the two nations and the world at large.
